What’s actually going on? No one really knows!
Crisis – Amongst all this disruption and uncertainty, many are experiencing increased vulnerability, fear, loneliness, suffering, loss and bereavement. Some true heroes & sheroes are working in service on the frontlines – health care workers, emergency services, shop staff, drivers, rubbish & recycling collection etc. I wonder if governments will value them more now in terms of pay and investment in the NHS? What about the laws that have been swiftly introduced that may appear to be solutions to current problems, yet have the potential to infringe on the sovereignty of our bodies, our fundamental human rights and liberty? I’m grateful to the work of ‘Avaaz’ and other online campaigns at this time. Some people have a comfortable home and income to see this through, and others may be living in cramped, difficult or even dangerous circumstances and financial crisis whilst home-schooling their kids. Is a global ‘lockdown’ really the best way? Who gets to benefit from this policy? How can small and medium businesses survive? What about the millions of people living hand to mouth, let alone the refugees and homeless? As many people have said at different times: ‘One of the measures of a civilised society is how well it looks after the most vulnerable members’.

Unity – This can also be time for a re-set as we step off the hamster wheels of busy-ness and devote more energy to personal growth in our ‘home retreats’. Time to simply be and adjust to the changes. It feels like there is actually a greater sense of unity and solidarity as this affects everyone, everywhere and people are connecting more with their hearts & loved ones. There is may be more time to be nourished and inspired by nature and reflect on our lives, values, priorities and the state of the earth. What changes do you wish to make in your life and your contribution to the world in small and perhaps radical ways? Surely there will be no ‘getting back to normal’ even if we could? ‘Normal’ was functioning in a world of hopeless consumerism, injustice and environmental destruction. This could be the perfect time for a new paradigm to be born – a revolution of peace, compassionate communities and environmental regeneration. It’s time to get creative!
Revolution – Some say it’s the earth’s way of bringing about change. The ‘system’ didn’t stop despite heart-breaking famines, raging fires and colossal floods, so now Corona stops us in our tracks. We hold grief in our lungs. As the lungs of the planet have suffered with ocean life and forests being destroyed, now human lungs are affected and with the loss of life, income and ‘normality’ – a collective grieving ensues – as part of a global healing. It seems to me that we have reached a critical mass of awakening beings – the ever-growing ‘Rainbow tribe’ – and although the old paradigm may be attempting tighten controls, still the ‘Golden Age’ emerges – it’s already happening! Many wise peoples and astrologers have predicted it, including Native Americans, Mayans and Indian Sanskrit scriptures. It’s certainly comforting to believe this amidst so much suffering in the world – that there is a great planetary ‘death and rebirth’ occurring and we’re in a collective eye of the storm and dark night of the soul as a new way of living dawns. I think it’s very important not to identify as victims of this or part of a battle. I see it as a co-created darkness being revealed and made conscious, as a co-created and growing light emerges. I like the analogy that we are at home in our symbolic cocoons, in a chrysalis, ready to emerge as human butterflies. When we emerge, like phoenixes from the ashes of the old regimes, how can we take better care of what really matters for all our relations: the bees, trees, seeds, seas, animals and each other? More than ever, we must restore the ancient indigenous ways of living in harmony with the earth, take actions to protect the planet and live in right relationship with all beings. If the world can totally shut down for ‘Corona’ then what else is possible? With awakened hearts, a new awareness of interconnectedness, and all of the amazing modern inventions, in divine service, in what incredible ways can humanity evolve…?

Dream the right dream – I intend to keep dreaming the right dream, to enjoy and live life in the fullest most beautiful way I can and keep praying, envisioning, awakening, celebrating a world fully in love, truth, peace, joy, harmony and freedom – Heaven on Earth – with gratitide.
We’re all in this together and revolution begins with ourselves.
“We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do.” – Mahatma Gandhi
