It was a busy sunny Sunday at Avebury yesterday, with a coach group in pirate fancy dress, and families having picnics on the gravestones by the church. It's great to see so many people coming to appreciate the stones and find a place to sit and contemplate life. I have heard that the stones hold the spirits of our ancestors, that they love to be acknowledged, and each stone has a place for offerings to be placed.
It was a treat to visit Avebury with a good friend who has never been there, and to our delight, there was a crop circle right beside the raised loop walk around the stones, so we could walk around that too, and feel the vibration that the geometry creates, and wonder what it symbolises and who made it…
