Its a vulnerable and exciting feeling to release my first album ‘Heaven on Earth’ on Bandcamp , to call myself a ‘singer-songwriter’, and have a record label called ‘Fire Horse’! I also loved creating the artwork for the album cover, which has 4 sides.
The songs have come though me for the last 10 years or so. I tend to receive the words after a significant healing process and the music comes when I am driving or walking – I find myself humming a tune, and record it on my phone. My intention was to release a simple album to get the songs out into the world, and then later produce one with more instruments in layers.
The songs are a combination of joyful jazzy/bluesy firey songs & soulful watery ballads. All candid, catchy, sing-along, beautiful healing tunes that get into your head and heart. Co-creating Heaven on Earth, through the healing powers of dreaming, joy, laughter, forgiveness, surrender, connecting with nature and gratitude.
I am very grateful for all those who have supported and contributed to this album, especially Eddie Chilvers (piano & backing vocals), Ruth Blake (vocal harmonies), Ben Capp (mixing & mastering) and Jinty Smith (digital art & layout).
