According to the Mayan calender, But also prophecies from the native Americans, Indian Yogis, aboriginals, ancient Egyptians and others, the old world – of war, greed and materialsism is coming to an end, and a new age of harmony, peace and community is about to commence.
Our planet Earth takes one year to complete a full orbit of the Sun. Likewise our Sun takes a little less than 26,000 years to complete an orbit of the centre of the Milky Way Galaxy. This is a spiral galaxy with an unimaginable amount of light, and therefore consciousness, being emitted from the centre. Our Sun and solar system are about 2/3 of the way out from the centre. Most of the time there is a lot of gas and nebula in-between us and the centre of the Milky Way. Like a cloudy day – the Sun is still shining, but not so much of the light actually gets to us. However there are two periods within this 26,000 year cycle when we emerge out from behind ‘the clouds’ and receive the full unfiltered light and consciousness from the centre. This process of ‘coming out’ has been happening over the last 26 years starting in 1987, with an extra 2 weeks more each year in this ‘photon belt’. On the Winter Solstice 2012 we will arrive fully in this ‘photon band’ and this will herald an Age of Light for the next 2,000 years. The Age of Aquarius. With this increase in ambient light there is an expected evolutionary leap in consciousness, and a falling away of old paradigms and structures.
The exact time of this global shift is 11.11 GMT on the 21st December 2012. This has been described by many spiritual teachers as a 'portal of opportunity', whereby we can through meditation and prayer, cleanse, heal and awaken our consciousness – both for ourselves and the planet:peace within and peace on earth. This is a great time to forgive, say 'sorry', say 'I love you', and feel gratitude for all that we have. This new age also calls for a celebration!!! so it's a great time to gather with friends and family to celebrate this awesome moment in the evolution of our planet that we are alive for…

It is time to speak your Truth. Create your community. Be good to each other. And do not look outside yourself for the leader. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. Then he clasped his hands together, smiled, and said, “This could be a good time! There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are being torn apart and will suffer greatly. Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above the water. And I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally. Least of all, ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt. The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.
