2012 is here! A year that is much talked and written about, due to the Mayan Calender ending this year on December 21st, the winter solstice. Some say this indicates the end of the world, but some tribal elders say this is a false interpretation of the prophecies. They say that this signifies a transformation of our planet, as we evolve into a higher vibration – the dawning of the age of aquarius – living in peace, harmony and community….well here's to that!

In order to arrive at that place, we are perhaps going through a healing process, that partly explains the turbulence of the earth's climate, with earthquakes, floods and tsunamis; and humanities creations of wars, revolutions and economic crisis.

The dramatic water dragon has a stormy influence on all these situations, but it can also stimulate inventive thinking for new projects.

Over a period of 26,000 years, the sun's path follows a 360 degree rotation through the zodiac, and on the 21st December, the winter solstice, the sun and the milky way come into alignment, and this year due to the precession of the equinoxes, the sun will be aligned with the galactic equator, allowing more light to reach the earth and facilitate a spiritual transformation.

Who knows the truth until that date arrives, although the transformation may take many years rather than all occur on one day!

I keep hearing of many changes affecting peoples' lives, and this indeed seems to be an intense time for most of us. What better choice do we have but to trust that everything is 'as it is meant to be'  and to try to keep learning from life and aiming to be more compassionate & kind, present & aware. I feel it is crucial that we take care of our planet, as we wake up to the truth of our inner selves, dissolving the illusions of the ego, as well as the outside world, beyond what the mainstream media tells us. I believe that it is vital that we do not live in a state of fear, but rather to celebrate life as much as possible, bringing as much love, light, creativity, laughter and sharing into our lives. We each share responsibility, as we co-create the world around us, with each penny we spend, each thought we have, and every action we take.

In my personal meditations and shamanic journeys, I see visions of the sea levels of the world rising and the devastation caused by pollution and over-population. I see a period of darkness where we have to live as communities to survive, but that the sun will rise again, bringing a feeling of hope and light for the future.
